Hey there!

I’m Bird Sellergren, M.A., and I’m glad you’re here.

I’m a doctoral scholar pursuing both a PhD (UC Berkeley) and an EdD (San Francisco State), an educator, and an autistic coach based in San Francisco.

My work focuses on autism advocacy, access, and well-being. My expertise is rooted in many years of academic scholarship, authorship, group facilitation, lived experience, and leadership in community-based systems change.

In my coaching, I help autistic adults identify their goals, build strategies for navigating life after diagnosis, request workplace accommodations, improve relationships, and create routines that actually work with their individual neurotype. I use a mindfulness-based practice that enables my clients to contextualize their lives by understanding how autism affects their interactions with the world and their relationships.

Whether you're seeking support for personal growth, professional clarity, or self-understanding, I offer practical, autism-affirming guidance that meets you where you are.

Alongside 1:1 coaching, I also offer workshops, speaking engagements, auditing, and policy consulting for organizations seeking to build more inclusive systems. We can tailor my offerings to your specific needs. Want to host a brown-bag Q&A followed by a set of group coaching sessions? Sure! Let’s get creative so I can adequately meet your needs.

My Offerings

  • Two cups of coffee on a table in a coffee shop with people chatting in the out-of-focus background.

    Autistic Life Coaching

Autistic adults often struggle to find professional support for decision-making, managing executive functioning, and building relationships. Many practitioners prioritize conformity to neurotypical norms, ignoring the harmful effects of masking on mental well-being. I empathize the challenges autistic people experience and help you create strategies that respect your neurodiversity and achieve your goals.

  • A group of people sitting around a table with laptops in front of them.

    Neurodiversity Education for Organizations

I offer expert-led talks, presentations, group coaching, and hands-on workshops on autism and neurodiversity that go beyond basic knowledge. My interactive sessions focus on neurodiversity-affirming practices and actionable strategies to create lasting change in educational, corporate, and community settings. Tailored to your organization’s needs, these immersive experiences equip your team with the knowledge and skills to foster accessibility and support neurodivergent individuals.

  • A sunset behind a meditating person

    Mindfulness-Based Practices

My mindfulness-based approach is tailored for autistic and neurodivergent individuals. Mindfulness helps us build self-awareness, focus, and navigate sensory overload, life's demands, and communication challenges common to autism. Through mindfulness, we may find balance and clarity amidst chaos and greater ease in our interactions, transforming our perception and interaction with the world.

  • A woman in a motorized wheelchair looking up at trees surrounding her in a park space.

    Disability Accessibility

Whether your access concerns are digital, environmental, or interpersonal, I will guide you through the disability accessibility process to create solutions that will address your specific needs. I am available for auditing, social media content, copywriting and editing, event consultation, accessibility handbook design, and disability accessibility training and workshops.
